Hey my fashion lovers and local partiers!
So today on May 25, 2010, is the first time I am going back to my "alma mater" Saint John's at Prospect Hall, since I graduated last May. This function which alumni were invited to is a lacrosse game that pits alumni of the boy's lacrosse team against the current high school boys lacrosse team. Though I am excited to see all of my favorite people from high school that I haven't seen in forever, there are still some of those people that I wish would just never appear again in my life. I am sure everyone has one of those hanging around in the background too. But, being civil, and charming the public is what I strive for-- having an active social life and all-- and of course doing it in style aka fashionably.
Best Way: DRESS TO IMPRESS, in a social situation where you are meeting people from your past, you want to look good, without looking like you over thought it. In a situation where it is outside, be casual. A cute top and bottoms is your canvas. The key is to have a conversation piece that grabs attention. This conversation piece is best in the form of jewelery. A beautiful colorful statement necklace, or bracelet. This piece of jewelry must be unique, and something that no one has seen before. It will really tie up your whole entire outfit, and it will be sure to steal the attention of the fellow alumni, and the current high schoolers.
Fashion World's Take: Lanai Welcome Necklace, Anthropologie $198.00
This necklace commands attention with its array of colors and crystals which have been shaped into beautiful flowers!
I own this necklace personally and am actually going to where this today at the lacrosse game. Every time i where this i get compliments and people always ask me where i got it and tell me that it must have been so expensive... if only they knew... well if they read this, now they know. It is unique and really does spark conversation!
ANYWAYS...
To update the whole situation, I did have an awesome time at the game, my high school to this day still tries to gauge people for money, this time by selling t-shirts, ( I told them I get that for free at college) haha, oh my... Anyways! I ended taking the alumni pictures, and then randomly ending up at great gathering which led into the wee hours of the morning.
Oh and by the way, the necklace got tons--tons guys, tons-- of compliments : ] I even got the compliments on my anthropologie sandals woohoo! So see it really does work! Try this out this summer my fellow fashionistas, you will be certainly on the winning end!
love, j'adore, amor,
Gabriela Mercedes
